Meet the Green Team: Link Logistics

Link Logistics joined us for a trash pick-up as part of their Breakthrough leadership development program!

South Lincoln Park
Trash Pick-Up

Was this your group’s first visit to Lincoln Park?

Yes - last year, our Green Team picked up litter at Jane Addams Memorial and Milton Lee Olive Parks.

How does your organization’s mission relate to the volunteer work you've done with Chicago Parks Foundation?

At Link Logistics, one of our core principles is striving for enduring positive impact.

As part of our Breakthrough leadership development program for new people leaders, we look for opportunities to connect leadership growth with community impact.

Partnering with the Chicago Parks Foundation allowed our participants to step outside the classroom, work together in service of the local community, and contribute to keeping Chicago’s parks clean and welcoming for everyone who uses them.

Highlights from the day:

One of the highlights was seeing our Breakthrough cohort come together outside of the traditional learning environment. After spending months learning alongside one another, participants had the opportunity to work side-by-side cleaning Lincoln Park South and giving back to the local community. It was a great reminder that leadership is not only about developing people within our organization, but also about showing up for the communities where we live and work. The morning was energetic, collaborative, and a meaningful way to conclude our program experience in Chicago.

It was a great experience, and it was wonderful for folks to be able to give back while also getting some time outdoors in a lovely park!
