Was this your group’s first Green Team?

No, this was NEWITY's first time partnering with the Chicago Parks Foundation. We are always looking for opportunities to give back to the communities around us, so the Green Teams program was a natural fit. We appreciated the chance to work together as a team while making a tangible impact in a local park. Knowing our efforts helped create safer spaces for children and families made the experience especially rewarding.

How does your organization’s mission relate to the volunteer work you've done with Chicago Parks Foundation?

At NEWITY, we believe in helping people succeed. Every day, we work to connect entrepreneurs with the funding and resources they need to grow their businesses, but our commitment to supporting communities extends beyond our day-to-day work.

Partnering with the Chicago Parks Foundation gave us the opportunity to make a direct impact by helping create safer spaces for children and families. Just as we strive to support small businesses, we're proud to support efforts that help local communities grow and thrive.

Highlights from the day:

A highlight of the day was watching our team come together to work toward a common goal. Everyone jumped in, took on different tasks, and supported one another throughout the project. Knowing that our efforts would help create a safer place for children to play made the work incredibly rewarding. It was meaningful to see the impact we could make as a team while keeping the families and children who use the playground at the center of what we were doing.
