Look Who’s Pitching In: Invenergy!

In our LOOK WHO’S PITCHING IN story series, the Chicago Parks Foundation will introduce you to the volunteers who are making the 2021 season of Pitch In for the Parks + Green Teams citywide park clean-ups possible.

Today, we meet the Invenergy Sustainability Network!

Invenergy joined us for a Green Teams clean-up on October 20th at Garfield Park.

Who is the Invenergy Sustainability Network?

The Invenergy Sustainability Network (ISN) is an employee affinity group at Invenergy, a leading privately held, global developer and operator of sustainable energy solutions headquartered in Chicago.

The Invenergy Sustainability Network (ISN) is a platform to engage and educate Invenergy employees, and their extended networks, on concepts of sustainability and how we, building on our culture of innovation, can reduce our impacts and to promote and encourage environmental responsibility. Working with CPF allows us to directly connect with resources to enhance the parks and protect the natural ecosystems we cohabit in the city of Chicago.

How did your organization hear about CPF and the Green Team program?

Invenergy’s Impact team researched organizations in the Chicago area that align with our mission and connected with the Chicago Parks Foundation (CPF) We connected on opportunities to participate in the Green Team program.

How does your organization’s mission relate to the work you’re doing with CPF?

As an employee affinity group committed to educating our colleagues about sustainability and encouraging responsibility, ISN members share a passion for the natural environment, at work and outside of work. Volunteering for the parks gives us an opportunity to connect with that passion in a tangible way that can often get lost in the shuffle of daily life. Taking time together outside of the office also allowed us to connect with members of other teams we might not work with on a regular basis, creating bonds through a shared experience! Finally, volunteering for the Parks provides Invenergy employees an opportunity to utilize our volunteer time off benefit, adding value to our local community, and getting employees out of the office. Win, win, win!

Thank you for pitching in, Invenergy!

You can also join us with a gift or become a Chicago Parks Foundation Member! Your support helps make vital park programming like Pitch In for the Parks possible. When you invest in the parks, you invest in the communities who love and depend on them!
