In our LOOK WHO’S PITCHING IN story series, the Chicago Parks Foundation will introduce you to the volunteers who are making the 2021 season of Pitch In for the Parks + Green Teams citywide park clean-ups possible.

Today, we meet DWS Group!

DWS joined us for a Green Teams clean-up on October 13th at Garfield Park.

Who is DWS Group?

DWS Group (DWS) is one of the world's leading asset managers with EUR 859bn of assets under management (as of 30 June 2021). Building on more than 60 years of experience, it has a reputation for excellence in Germany, Europe, the Americas and Asia. DWS is recognized by clients globally as a trusted source for integrated investment solutions, stability and innovation across a full spectrum of investment disciplines. DWS wants to innovate and shape the future of investing: with approximately 3,500 employees in offices all over the world, we are local while being one global team. We are investors – entrusted to build the best foundation for our clients’ future.

How did your organization hear about CPF and the Green Team program?

DWS is passionate about working with non-profit organizations, especially in the communities that we operate, that ties into our Environmental Social Governance (“ESG”) and Corporate Social Responsibility (“CSR”) company goals. We had grassroots efforts from our colleagues that desired to collaborate with a non-profit organization that provided opportunities for an outdoor volunteer activity to help the environment, whereby we were delighted to discover the Chicago Parks Foundation and participate in its Green Team program.

Why is volunteering for the parks important to your organization?

DWS is genuinely passionate on giving back to the community and making the environment better through action, whereby volunteerism of cleaning up parks and collaborating with the Chicago Parks Foundation not only exemplifies our commitment to ESG and CSR goals, but also the values that our employees have by participating in these opportunities.

How does your organization’s mission relate to the work you’re doing with CPF?

DWS’s role as a fiduciary is built on trust on doing what’s best for our clients that involves expertise and innovation across investment disciplines, as well as the integrity that our company’s culture is inclusive at addressing our ESG and CSR goals. The work that the Chicago Parks Foundation provides for the 600+ parks in the Chicago area is invaluable and the opportunity for DWS to collaborate and volunteer with such work aligns with the trust we strive to grow with both our clients and the communities we operate.

Thank you for pitching in, DWS!

DWS is genuinely passionate on giving back to the community and making the environment better through action.
