Our 2025 Volunteer Season

With the Chicago Parks Foundation, a little green goes a long way!

CPF continues to lead the first and only citywide volunteer cleanup program for our parks. The 2025 season was a great success thanks to your support.

Our goal is to help park users and lovers become park givers and stewards. CPF’s volunteer programs are an excellent opportunity to equip everyday park users with the supplies and support their need to take that next step. corporate groups to get together and give back.

We like to say a little green goes a long way because a little time spent outdoors in green space, a little care given back to our community parks, a little generosity donated to the parks’ nonprofit partner… it all adds up and goes a long way for ourselves, our neighbors, and our city.

Chicago Parks Foundation thanks everyone who joined us this year for It’s Your Park Day, Pitch In for the Parks and Green Teams!

Green Teams

CPF’s corporate clean-up program offers personalized two-hour clean-up experiences for employees to get outside and give back together.

Each Green Team generously supports us with a donation, and this directly funds the complimentary supplies and support we provide to our PIFTP community volunteers, as well as our other vital park work as the nonprofit partner of Chicago’s parks.

Many of our groups returned from prior years or opted for muli-day and mulit-park events for their employees!

Pitch In for the Parks

From June through October, CPF provides complimentary clean-up supplies for small groups to independently host clean-ups at the park, date, and time of their choice. Many groups commit to meeting regularly every week or month.

All kinds of groups came together to participate, including aldermanic offices, schools, companies and organizations, neighborhood associations, Park Advisory Councils, churches, and crews of family and friends.

“This experience made me feel a great sense of community. I saw a diverse group of people come together to make the park better for everyone and it warmed my heart. As a bonus, I learned about the natural area and the other programs offered at my local park!”

- Jake, Pitch In @ River Park w/ River Park Steward Volunteers & River PAC
