YOUR Park, YOUR Day, Celebrate in any way!

Our Pitch In for the Parks season of citywide park clean-ups runs June through October each year. We kick it all off with a special event called It's Your Park Day.

It’s Your Park Day is a community clean-up day across dozens of Chicago parks! Most groups will spend their event doing a trash pick-up. Events hosted by Park Advisory Councils (PACs) may include additional activities like tree mulching, playground woodchip replenishment, and more. Free, fun, family-friendly.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our 2025 event, which marked our 10th Annual It’s Your Park Day! 600 volunteers pitched in at 50 parks across the city. Activities included trash pick-up, planting, painting, gardening, cleanup, cultural performances, food, fun - and lots of hard work! 19 groups mulched trees and 16 groups replenished their playground woodchips.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER IYPD?

We keep pitching in - and we hope you'll join us!

IYPD kicks off our Pitch In for the Parks (PIFTP) program running June through October. Just like IYPD, we provide hosting PIFTP groups with complimentary supplies to independently host trash pick-ups - but PIFTP events can be at the park, date(s), and time(s) of your choice June-October. Or organize a Green Teams volunteer event for your corporate group at a park in need!
